CRISIS NEGOTIATIONS

This is a five day course, taught by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, designed to familiarize police officers with the current doctrine and theory of successful negotiations with individuals who are suicidal or in crisis, as well as criminal, mentally deranged and fanatic hostage takers. Instruction stresses the goal of preserving all lives concerned and emphasizes both psychological theory and a practical "how to" approach in dealing with the hostage taker. Attendees should be highly motivated and designated by their agency to act as negotiators during actual crisis situations.

***** This Course is being held at the Ocean County Police Academy. There are seven (7) slots being held for Law Enfrocement Officers from Atlantic County. Registration for officers from Atlantic County are to be made through the Atlantic County Police Academy / Training Center.
