Educating First Responders About Autism
|
Course Description:
This one night seminar will demonstrate how large and growing the autism population is in New Jersey. It will identify those symptoms and behaviors that indicate an autism diagnosis; it will explain how these persons are likely to react to normal police and first responder protocols because of their disability. Law Enforcement trained certified instructors will provide tangibile, useable nuts-and-bolts type of information to minimize liability, de-escalate situations and promote successful outcomes during the seminar.
1.5 Public Health CEs available.
1.5 EMT CEUs applied for.
