of neighborhood, business, and community conflicts. Typical problems
may involve barking dog complaints, contract disputes, business/patron
complaints, minor assaults, harassment, etc.
Family
Mediation (Parenting Plan)
CMS provides child custody/visitation mediation services to divorcing/separating
parents. By using mediation, parents are able to develop a parenting plan
that reflects the best interests of the children. Victim-Offender
Mediation
This program is designed to allow juvenile offenders to meet with their
victims to develop a restitution plan. One of the goals of this program
is to help the offender feel empathy for victims. Peer
Mediation in Schools
CMS assists schools in implementing a Peer Mediation Program in
which student mediators help other students to peacefully resolve their
disputes. CLICK HERE for more information.
Truancy Mediation
This process allows the student and his/her parent and/or guardian to
meet with a mediator and the lead attendance/truancy officer at the Public
Safety Building. The purpose of the mediation is to review and confirm
the student’s attendance status and determine what can be done to
resolve matters that prevent the student from attending school and/or
arriving on time. CLICK HERE for more information. |
