| Atlantic County Academic Excellence Program |
The Atlantic County Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Daniel G. Loggi and
the Atlantic County Association of School Administrators in a collaborated
effort with Atlantic County Government, The Southern Regional Educational
Technology Training Center of the Richard Stockton College, and the Atlantic
County Council of Education Association are sponsoring the 2006 Annual
Atlantic County Academic Excellence Program on Thursday, June
1, 2006 at 11:00 AM at the Clarion Hotel and Convention Center, 6821
Black Horse Pike, Egg Harbor Twp., NJ.
The top academic students from each Atlantic County Public School District
in grades 8
and 12, will be honored at this event. A total of 119 students
will be recognized for
their achievements.
The event will be hosted by Mr. Douglas Groff, Superintendent of the
Galloway Township School District with Dr. Albert Monillas, Assistant
Commissioner giving opening remarks and Atlantic County Teacher of the
Year, Mr. John Napoli of the Linwood School District will offer greetings. Each
student will receive a plaque on behalf of their respective district. Certificates
of honor will be given on behalf of US Senator Frank Lautenberg, US Senator
Robert Menendez, US Congressman Frank LoBiondo, State Senator William
Gormley, State Assemblymen Francis Blee and James Whelan, and Atlantic
County Executive Dennis Levinson. The students will receive a
letter of congratulations on behalf of Sheriff James McGettigan in recognition
of their outstanding academic achievement as well as a personal photo
of the presentation.
Additionally, the First Annual Cape-Atlantic Supervisors and Principals
Association Scholarship Award will be presented by its Executive Board
to one select Atlantic County 12 grade student. Furthermore, Dr. Thomas
Baruffi, Superintendent, Linwood Public Schools will be announcing the
2006 recipient of the 2nd Annual DeEdwin Hursey Award.
