What
is the Teen Arts Program? The Atlantic County Teen Arts is part of a statewide multidisciplinary program in the fine and performing arts. Serving students and teachers in both public and private schools since 1969, the program encompasses activities in dance, theater, vocal music, instrumental music, film and video, photography, creative writing and the visual arts. The Atlantic County program is coordinated by the Atlantic County Office of Cultural & Heritage Affairs. Annual County FestivalA Teen Arts Festival is held annually in early May on the campus of The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey in Pomona. Any teen from throughout Atlantic County is invited to display their talent, meet with professionals in the field for critique and attend hands-on workshops or master classes. Click here to download the application for the Teen Arts Festival. State FestivalThose students who attend the County Festival may also go on to attend workshops and master classes at the State Festival. A few teens who demonstrate excellence are singled out by the professional artists and are invited to perform or exhibit at the State level. Because only a few can be selected for the State Touring Exhibit and the State Creative Writing Anthology, Atlantic County has endeavored to create programs to allow more teens to receive recognition at the County level, such as the Atlantic County Anthology, a publication which includes creative writing and artwork, and the visual art exhibit and performance showcase. Come Join Us!We encourage area artists, teachers, school administrators and parents of teens active in the fine and performing arts to work with us to provide a wide range of programs and opportunities for the Atlantic County Teen Arts Program.
