The Atlantic County Animal Shelter salutes Dr. Nick Holland and Shore Veteranians, Egg Harbor Township, for their efforts to save the life of Ace. The young male Rottweiler mix dog was picked up by an Animal Control Officer in the western portion of the county. The dog's leg had apparently been caught in some type of illegal trap and it was in obvious pain and discomfort. The dog's owners were found but they refused to pay for veterinary care. The dog was taken to an emergency clinic for basic care before being brought to the Animal Shelter.
While in the shelter's care, the dog received wound care and medical treatment but was in need of surgery to amputate the injured leg. Shore Vets agreed to perform the surgery at no cost and is now boarding him for free during his recovery period. They plan to help find him a good home and donate the adoption fee to the shelter.
Thank you, Dr. Holland and the staff of Shore Vets. |
