Levinson to Receive Limited Edition WWII Maritime Publication

Atlantic County Executive Dennis Levinson will receive a limited edition of "A Careless Word - A Needless Sinking" by Captain Arthur R. Moore at a presentation by representatives from the American Merchant Marine Veterans, Southern Branch of New Jersey. The publication is the result of more than 20 years of dedication by Captain Moore in gathering data on the vital role played by American Merchant Marine in winning World War II. The book will be presented to Levinson on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at 1:30 PM at the Atlantic County Office Building, 1333 Atlantic Avenue, Atlantic City. The 716-page book contains details of every ship that was sunk during World War II, including its name, location of sinking, ship’s cargo, time of sinking, submarine responsible for sinking, names of ship’s crew members and photos of each ship.
