Atlantic County Veterans Service Medal Ceremony

Atlantic County Government will honor the sacrifice and service of Atlantic County veterans, past and present, with the presentation of the newly commissioned Atlantic County Veterans Service Medal by County Executive Dennis Levinson to approximately 450 veterans or their representatives at a ceremony on Saturday, June 2, 2007 at 10 AM at Atlantic Cape Community College, Jonathan Pitney Hall (Building E), Mays Landing.

In January 2007 the Atlantic County Veterans Advisory Board made a recommendation to County Executive Levinson to create an Atlantic County Veterans Service Medal to honor residents, living and deceased, who served their country in the U.S. Armed Forces. The medal is presented to recognize veterans for their service and to ensure that they are never forgotten.

To date, more than 1,300 veterans have applied for the medal. Applications will continue to be accepted and are available online at www.aclink.org/veterans as well as in the county's library branches, senior centers and the Atlantic County Office of veterans Services, 6601 Ventnor Avenue, Ventnor.
