BIOGRAPHY

Alex has been an Atlantic County resident for nearly 40 years. He resides in Linwood with his wife Bonnie (nee Todd), and three children. He earned a bachelor's degree in Political Science from Stockton State College, a master's degree in Education Administration from the University of Denver, and a certificate of advanced graduate study in Higher Educational Leadership from Widener University. He was elected to the Board of Chosen Freeholders in 2011.
Presently, he is the Assistant to the Provost for Atlantic City at Stockton College, and is charged with the overall administrative and operational leadership of Stockton’s assets in Atlantic City. In addition, he is involved with the creation of a Municipal Planning Board in Atlantic City and Pleasantville to reduce youth violence, and is the Co-Coordinator of the Lead Atlantic City Tomorrow Program that re-established a leadership training and public policy program.
His community involvement includes Chair of the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania and Southern New Jersey in Atlantic County, Chair of the Scholarship Committee for the Metropolitan Business & Citizens Association (MBCA), and as a member of the Advisory Committee for the South Jersey Cultural Alliance. For the past several years he has been a head coach with the Mainland Youth Lacrosse Program. Alex has received the Spirit of Leadership Award from the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA), and the George F. Lynn Volunteer of the Year Award from the United Way.
Alex served on Linwood City Council from 2006 to 2011. During his tenure he led the City through a strategic planning process providing the vision for zero based budgeting and shared services with other communities, ultimately reducing the City’s operating expenses, and limiting the size of government.
