Veterans Ad Hoc Advisory Board

The board helps to ensure that county government remains responsive to their needs and ensures that county traditions which honor the memory of our local veterans are perpetuated.

The board assists in the promulgation of news, services, and programs of interest to veterans. It is responsible for the planning, organization and conduct of county ceremonies which commemorate and recognize those who served our country in the armed forces.

The Advisory Board consists of members representative of all geographic areas of Atlantic County. Voting members of the Board must be veterans as defined by the laws of the State of New Jersey.

MEETINGS: Meetings are held the 1st Wednesday of each month at the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Building,601 Dolphin Ave., Northfield 7:30 P.M.

The by-laws of the Atlantic County Veterans Advisory Board require all members to be veterans. Interested applicants must submit a copy of their honorable discharge (DD-214) in addition to their application and resume.

Current Projects


  • Establish South Jersey SuperClinic “Health Care Center Facilities” (HCCF) program

  • Expand the Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery

  • Establish Atlantic County Veterans Museum

  • Address Atlantic County Veterans Homelessness

Completed Projects

  • Establish Atlantic County Veterans Services Officer
  • Create Atlantic County Veterans Medal
  • Expand qualifications for burial in Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery

  • Expand Ventnor VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic

  • Expand Ventnor VA Vet Center

  • Collaborate on the development of veterans informational brochures

  • Obtain bus for transporting vets to Wilmington VAMC (new bus received in 2011)

  • Expand/Relocate Ventnor VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic
