Definition: Under direction of the County Park Superintendent, assists in the administration of a comprehensive maintenance and development program for a geographical division of a large park system or a small or medium sized park system including parks and/or reservations, assists in the direction of employees engaged in carrying out maintenance programs, assists in the preparation of budget requests and assists in the administration of an approved budget, assists in the development and submission of plans for park rehabilitation and improvement as directed; does related work as required.

Requirements:
EDUCATION- Graduation from a four (4) year course at an accredited college or university with a major course of study in horticulture or forestry or civil engineering or landscape architecture or park planning or management or forest recreation or environmental sciences.
EXPERIENCE- One (1) year of management experience involving planning the care and maintenance of large tracts of ground, including the planting and care of shrubbery and flowers, the maintenance of specialized facilities, such as tennis courts, golf courses, ice rinks, zoos, playgrounds, and waterways and the preparation and administration of budgets.
NOTE: Possession of a master's degree in horticultre or forestry or civil engineering or landscape architecture or park planning or management or forest recreatioin or environmental sciences from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the one (1) year of work experience.
LICENSE- Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.
